{creating dreams come true} what do your dreams need right now?

it’s sunday – which means it’s creating dreams come true day. creating dreams come true is a free ongoing e-course and creative community to support you in living your dreams.  if you are new, please feel free to join in. the more creative dreamers the better!

i am currently making one of my big dreams come true – i am on vacation in turkey and egypt! thanks to the magic of technology, i was able to write this post ahead of time and schedule it to post now so that the creating dreams come true posts continue to go out while i am away and your creative adventure continues. please be aware that i am not checking in while i’m away, so i won’t be answering questions or commenting on posts. so i encourage you to visit each other, to support each other and cheer each other on with your dreams. i’ll be back march 15.

this week we want to slow down a little, and bring our attention inward to ask ourselves the question: what do my dreams need right now? because your dreams are so tied in with who you are, you are also asking “what do i need right now?  how can i best nourish myself and my dreams?

the answer is going to be different for each one of us.

sometimes we need to push ourselves a little to do more work.  sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to do a little less work.  sometimes we need a nap, a day at the spa, retail therapy, or a long talk with a good friend.  sometimes stopping to nourish ourselves is the fastest way to move forward, sometimes we need to sprint a little further before stopping.

so what do you and your dreams need this week?

if you’re not sure, spend some time with the question.  let it sink it.  meditate on it.  journal about it.  let the answer come to you.

when you have the answer – do it.

creative dream assignment for next week:  find out what you and your dreams need right now, and find a way to do it.  report back next sunday.

creative dream check-in:

meet in the comments section below to share the adventures you went on last week!

also don’t feel shy about checking in even if you didn’t do last week’s assignment. just let us know what is happening with your dreams – we love watching them grow.

I enjoyed the reminder to create adventure within our normal routines :)

My husband and I have started the big adventure of sorting through all of our belongings and making decisions about which ones are coming with us into the next phase of our life and which ones will be going to live with other people. We had made a gradual start, but over the weekend we decided to go for it — today we started on a one hour a day plan to rip through it all as quickly as we can without burning out. This is going to require many, many trips to Goodwill.

The adventure for me right now is having one of my dreams so close to coming true! One of my dreams is to illustrate children’s books with clay illustrations, and as some of you may know from an earlier post, I was contacted recently by a publisher who had seen my website and wanted to know if I would be interested in submitting samples for them to consider me to illustrate a couple upcoming books of theirs. I no sooner said yes, then I came down with a WICKED head cold!! No doubt from browsing around the kids department of my local library! Those little buggers never wash their hands! LOL So with very little time, and sick as a dog, I put together the best few samples I could under the circumstances. I sent them to her via email last Tuesday – and I haven’t heard a word! Nothing! She didn’t even acknowledge receiving them, which surprised me because she acknowledged every other email I sent. All of my friends keep reassuring me that no news is good news – at least they haven’t said NO yet! I agree.

This whole thing is an adventure for me because although I’ve worked with clay for years, I’ve never illustrated anything before. It’s all new to me – and that’s a little frightening, but also very, very exciting!

The way I’m dealing with the wait is to anticipate happily being able to announce to everyone that I just signed a contract to illustrate my first books. I truly believe if it doesn’t happen with this publisher, it will happen with another down the road.

Welcome home Andrea! I’ve really enjoyed seeing your trip photos! What an adventure YOU had!

  8. Scylliane says:

Waow Ginny ! So wonderful !

I know what my dream’s needing now… that I go outside and have a walk, and take photos as a report…
Let’s give a few day for that and have a check in soon

I’m so in mood to paint now I can’t set myself to go outside !

  9. Scylliane says:

I made a deal with myself… in order to make friend with my body asking to go outside, I took a hot bath, put on some bodylotion (vanilla une raspsberry, mmmm), scrub my face, had a mask on my skinface and put my favourite clothes on. It all energized me a lot, so I could declutter here and there.

I made a poor “loving my body” drawing there… naive but really full of energy
