I wanted to work outside on the solstice.
To appreciate trees and grass and green growing things.
So I took my giant Moleskine to the park. And got an ice cream cone.

Settled in under my favourite tree.

Sitting there with my feet on the grass was absolute perfection.
I felt free.
I heard this message “You are right where you are supposed to be.”
Everything around me kind of sparkled with inspiration.
I finished the plan for a new project I’m working on.
Closed my sketchbook and just sat there, enjoying the moment. Thinking about how happy I am to be right where I am.

Last night I went to a solstice atunement concert/ceremony/circle.
I go to this same one almost every solstice. It happens in this amazing beautiful magical place. Long drive but totally worth it.
Drums, crystal bowls, dancing, storytelling, aromatherapy, all sorts of energy work and music and meditation.
Not just celebrating the arrival of summer but attuning with it.
The lushness of it.
Even though I’m still working on s t r e t c h i n g myself into a bigger number for the Creative Journal Magic e-course – I did get the number of people I had first hoped to have in the class. My first magic number.
I did meet my income goal for the month with lots of days left over.
I feel fiercely connected to my intuition and my creative spirit and my heart and who I really am.
Life feels lush.
And today I am spending the day marinating in that feeling.
Pausing. Appreciating. Savoring.
And sending some of this lush happy your way.

i love that heart at the tip of your journal,
your heart at the edge of your life,
& under the tree,
& unearthing treasures
like ice cream.

Beautiful post, Andrea. And the second I’ve read about Solstice parties. I’d never heard of one before this week. But I’m seriously thinking about creating my own for the next winter Solstice. The picture of your journal was lovely. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.
