Lately I’ve been blogging some pretty personal parts of the conversations I have with my fears.
It’s not because lately I am discovering OMG I HAVE FEAR!
Ha!
Far from it. I am well acquainted with these little guys.
And this stuff has always been in my workshops and courses and everything I do really.
Because the only way to really get at your Creative Magic and be a deliciously empowered Creative Genius is to work on your relationship with your fears.
You already are a Creative Genius.
And you already do have all the Creative Magic you could ever want.
There is nothing you have to do, in order to become magic. You are so already there.
You Are Completely Amazing!
It’s just that the magic is usually, sometimes a little sometimes a lot, blocked by your stuff.
You know, your stuff: Fears. Patterns. Limiting beliefs.
Sometimes you are conscious of your stuff and sometimes not.
Usually not, actually.
Your stuff likes to hide right in your blind spot.
But if there is something, anything, that you want that you don’t have – you’ve got yourself a block somewhere inside of you.
And that block is made up of your stuff.
This is true even when, and maybe even especially when, you think there’s actually a really good logical reason why you don’t have it. Stuff loves to hide inside of really good logical reasons.
Which I don’t say in a blame-y OMG it’s your fault you don’t have what you want kind of way.
I’m saying that there is Creative Genius within you. And Creative Genius is un-stoppable and un-limited.
There is nothing that you cannot do.
And we all have our stuff.
And that stuff gets in the way of our infinite nature.
And every time I share some of my stuff on my blog people say “OMG It’s like you’re in my brain.”
There is something so re-assuring about knowing that other people are scared too. Other people are unsure too.
It’s not just you.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Your fears are normal. Your doubts are normal. Your uncertainties are normal.
And they don’t mean you can’t do what you want to do or have what you want to have or be who you want to be.
It’s just that you’ve got to deal with them in order to get there.
You’ve got to somehow find a way to interact with your own stuff. To carve a path through it so that you can get to what you want.
There is so much you can do when you use creativity and imagination to engage with your inner world.
Because your creativity is tied to your superpowers: intuition, authenticity, spirit, all that juicy stuff.
It’s like you are poking a hole in the block to let your Creative Magic flow through.
Just a tiny hole.
But think of how water wears away at rocks.
Letting your Creative Magic flow will start to wear down the block and transform it.
You can turn the blocks into building blocks and build your dream out of them.
But you don’t get to choose which parts to engage with and which parts to ignore.
I mean, you do of course. You can choose anything you want.
But I have never seen anyone get what they really want by ignoring and avoiding their fears and blocks.
I’ve also never seen anyone get what they really want by embracing and making themselves at home in their fears and blocks.
It’s about working with your stuff, not getting stuck it in or trying to sneak around it.
That’s where the magic is.
But it’s not easy.
It means looking right at the thing you want to see the least.
It means being with the feeling you want to avoid the most.
And then bringing the full force of your creative magic to it, and transforming it.
It’s uncomfortable, awkward and painful.
And I have yet to see another way that actually works.
But because it’s so uncomfortable, awkward and painful it really helps when you hear and see that are not alone in it.
So that is why I share my monster conversations here.

If you want to learn more about how to do this kind of work, you want my Transform your Inner Critics, Fears and Doubts Kit.
You get this kit as bonus when you buy the Creative Dream Incubator Kit, which has everything you need to make your dream REAL.

I’m so very VERY glad you do. Because the way you handle them is seriously inspiring, and the more you share about these conversations the more I get a handle on how to talk to my own monsters!
xoxo

I agree with Meg. I am so grateful you share your fears. Not feeling alone is so helpful in the dream following process.
[...] Kelly Rae suggested the same. And sitting with your fears, talking to them. This makes me think of Andrea Schroeder, that magical dream sparkler. She’s really good at [...]
