A few weeks ago, I started an experiment:
Every morning, I greet the day and notice what’s there.
How am I feeling?
What’s important about today?
What do I need? What do my dreams need?
What qualities do I want to fill up on this morning?
And I take all of that and use it to help me decide what Superpower is going to help me with whatever faces me today.
And then I activate it, simply by claiming it.
I just say – this is my Superpower today. And then it is.
And the most amazing people have been joining me in this. And the sweetest magicest little community of Facebooking Creative Superheroes has formed.
And some days someone claims a Superpower so awesome I take some for myself. Which is totally allowed because taking someone else’s Superpower only magnifies its power for you both.
And as I go through my day, whenever an obstacles comes up or I’m not sure what to do about something I remember my Superpower and I invoke it.
This results in the most unlikely, but totally Magic solutions.
Like when I was working on a project and felt kind of blocked and not sure what part to work on next. I remembered my Superpower for the day was peace. So I asked myself
“What would happen if I was at peace with each part of this project? What if I could use my Superpower to make the project be at peace with itself?”.
Immediately, my energy changed, everything opened up and I was back in my creative flow, knowing exactly what to do next.
When I have more work than I can possibly do in a day I activate the Superpower of Letting Things Work Themselves Out, which works beautifully.
When I’m stressed out, I activate the Superpower of Finding Pockets Of Calm Everywhere I Go and sure enough – I find them.
This works because intention is powerful.
But intention is also scary, sometimes. Nothing invites your Inner Critics and Fear Goblins out to play as quickly as a solid, clear intention can.
And nothing can bypass all of that mess and ickiness quite like Creativity, Imagination and Play can.
So. Superpowers. You have them. Let’s activate them.
Let’s invite Creativity and Imagination out to play and see what becomes possible.
I do this most days on the Creative Magic Academy Facebook page. “Like” the page to get the daily Superpower prompts in your Facebook stream. And feel free to pop in with your Superpowers even if I missed it that day.
You can do this all on your own but it’s not nearly as magic. Putting it out there makes it more real for you and makes you more likely to remember and invoke your Superpower throughout the day when you need it.
I could definitely use some reinforcement in the clarity, focus and direction departments. Bring it on!!! xo
I already used possibility to explore my dream and clarifiy what I wanted. I think it was great not to close any door. Now the many doors to my dreams have become a bright portal to one first dream that leads to one room of my dream castle. Let’s build dream castle where we are and focus on the right room at the right time.
I love this blog and the emphasis on focus, intention, direction and being open to the possibilities offered by the world. What else are we here for? My project is to take a photo at sunrise and sunset every day to get myself into perspective and live the day in between with focus and effortlessness. I’m posting my progress on my blog.

My dreams, in some ways, are similar to yours. I’d like to be able to write, blog, whisper and shout about the dreams of my heart. The things I’ve learned and my wishes for the world. I’d want to be understood and well received. Thank you for your insights. It is wonderful to be able to hear from people who live their dreams and are not limited by others’ expectations. I guess as I’m trying to create my own expectations of self it all feels a bit new and scary. How can I make money to survive and persue an authentic way of being in our crazy world, but also retain integrity and self belief and not a sense-of-sell-out-self before I’ve even begun, if what I believe is, at base,so grounded in notions of equality and accesibility. Humm. Thank you for your post..is where I am going with this. X
