Your Creative Genius Is Bigger Than The Obstacles

Weekly Visionary Visioning

By Andrea Schroeder | December 9, 2012

Last Sunday I wrote a post about Visionary Visioning and made a commitment to explore this in my life, and to write and post, about Visionary Visioning every Sunday in December. That post is here.

So. Letting the energy of Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness be my guide this week, the first thing I noticed was a strong strong strong burning desire to get rid of some things: a portable air conditioner unit and 2 fans.

These are things from my old house, not needed in the new eco-friendly loft.

But I wasn’t SURE I wouldn’t need them, so I put them in the teeeeenytiny “storage space” (actually the space behind my fridge).

So this week, with Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness as my guide, I needed these things gone.? I realised that they made my teeeeeenytiny storage space be all full and messy-looking.

But more than that, they didn’t support the qualities of Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness.

Holding onto things you don’t need just doesn’t fit.? It’s not about about having lots of stuff.? It’s more about having what’s right and trusting your needs will be met.

So I found new owners for them.? And now that space feels like caring and love and possibility and spaciousness.

Even though, of course, I can’t SEE this space behind my fridge, it has changed how my space feels.

Which sparked more changes.

I had a friend help me move some stuff.? Upstairs things went downstairs and downstairs things went upstairs.? And it feels like a new layer of settling into who I am and creating a life that feels true to me, fueled by Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness.

Surprising discovery as I connect to Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness: I want to make less money

It felt surprising at the time but is really a natural extension of it’s not about about having lots of stuff.? It’s more about having what’s right and trusting your needs will be met.

It started to become clear that the only reason I want to make more money is to have more money socked away in case of an emergency.

It’s the answer to all of those inner critic questions/fears from when I was leaving my job: what if I get sick, like so terribly horribly sick I can’t do my work? ?What if I am incapacitated? ?What if something happens to a family member and I need to take care of them. ?

OMG ?I could keep what-ifing for some time but I’ll stop here.

That’s not the energy space I want to be in, so why fuel it?

Fullness and wanting more/striving for more don’t fit together.

Though fullness and being open to more do fit.? There is a different feeling to that openness, like staying in tune with the natural expansion and growth in the universe.

Fullness + Richness together feels more like a celebration of what is than a push to create more.

My guess is that it also opens the doors to more.? But in an invitational-celebrational kind of way and not in a pushing-demanding-MAKING it happen kind of way.? Which I am just not interested in – it’s such a creative buzzkill.

My next steps:

Last Sunday when I meditated with the intention of connecting to the more expansive vision I wanted to explore, what came to me was Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness.? At the time it felt like that was the energy behind the vision.

Last week, in exploring Heart-Centered Richness + Fullness I have learned that it actually IS the vision.? And that it’s not all airy-fairy energy-feeling stuff, there is something quite tangible in this too.

I also had an insane amount of inspiration and one earth-shattering breakthrough.

Plus I perfected my system for recording inspiration + magic + all the things I want to do. Which is of course from the other intention I had with this – to have the visionary visioning fuel my Creative Genius Planning Sessions.?? (And, creating containers, structures + systems for growing dreams is something we’ve been working on in the Creative Dream Circle)

So it feels like I’m holding onto and using more of the inspiration – which of course makes sense – I’m holding onto more of the vision because I’m giving it my attention and creating space for it in my life.

Ahhhhhh! I love this.

Doors are opening.

This next week, I want to keep exploring what’s behind them. This morning, I’ve got about eight feet of watercolour paper spread out on my floor with art supplies everywhere.? I’m lying on the paper, drawing, dreaming, mapping + having a beautiful day.

I’d love to share a photo, but sunlight is streaming in from the gigantic windows and highlight the dust + stuff that is not getting cleaned up today and I just don’t want to share that on the internet.

So this week I’m going to keep working on this, (and eventually, tidy up).

I’ve already got the perfect spot to hang this 8 foot long vision map when it’s done (I love the Creative Magic Headquarters with its giant walls and lots of space!) so that once I’ve captured a clear snapshot of my vision – I don’t forget it.

PS: I’m running a live session of the Creative Dream Incubator in January!? It will include access to my amazing Creative Dream Circle and weekly coaching + inspiration + magic mojo calls.

If 2013 is your year to make your dream real, I am here to help.

Let?s start with a free mini-coaching session.? Here?s how it works:

The Creative Dream UN-STUCK-U-BATOR is a fifteen minute laser-focused coaching call with me. (We?ll meet on the phone, or if you?re outside of North America we?ll use Skype, audio only.)

People are already finding impossible things turning possible, stucks melting away and new paths being formed.

Even though the sessions are only 15 minutes and most people come to them feeling like their stuck is too big to be solved in 15 minutes.

That?s not true.

[Book + CD Giveaway] Micheal Bernard Beckwith: Transcendance Expanded

By Andrea Schroeder | December 3, 2012

Before we start, I am obligated to let you know that HayHouse Publishing sent me a free copy of this book and CD, to review (with my honest, actual, uncensored opinions) on my blog.

If you don’t know Micheal Bernard Beckwith, you should.

He is the founder and spiritual director of Agape International Spiritual Centre, which is a New Though centre.

I have been trained and accredited as a New Though Healing Practitioner which I describe it as ?a guide, mentor and teacher in the art and science of bringing dreams to life? though it is, of course, much more than that.

I left the New Thought Centre where I used to hold workshops and courses and started the Creative Magic Academy with a clear mission: to serve creative people by teaching them the tools they need to make their wildest dreams real.

While New Thought principles are definitely a part of that, I do draw from a lot of other sources as well.? I didn’t find that New Thought, on its own, was enough to be able to guarantee success, and I wanted to be able to guarantee success.? (Which I do, the Creative Dream Incubator has a 100% Money Back Guarantee)

But when it comes to Micheal Bernard Beckwith – it’s a totally different story.

He brings this philosophy to life in a way that absolutely sparkles and shines.

He is clearly superconnected to his purpose, power and creativity (AKA Creative Magic).

This book is a series of his wisdom teachings which are, of course, brilliant and transcendent in a soul-shaking kind of way.

The CD contains 9 rhythm and joy tracks – his voice speaking his words, expertly put to music.

It’s a burst of inspiration, positive energy and magic.

Listening to this music reminds you of your soul’s truth. It brings you back to that place where you are, absolutely and positively, connected to your infinite creative potential, your ability to create a life that is true to who you really are.

Then it inspires you to get up and bring your vision to life.

It is Creative Dream Superfuel.

I love it.

Today in the Creative Dream Circle we’re having an extra-magic day-long playdate.? Our mission: to FILL UP on Believing in Ourselves so we enter 2013 ready to step more fully into living our dreams.

There is magic in the air and in celebration of that, I am giving away a copy of Transcendance Expanded – the book + CD set, which can totally help you fill up on believing in yourself so you enter 2013 ready to step more fully into your dreams.

To enter the giveaway:

Leave a comment below letting me know what you want to create in your world in 2013.? I’ll be drawing a name on Wednesday evening (Dec 5).

EDITED: The contest is now closed. ?The winner is Jen, who said “In 2013, I would like to start up my on-line (very few printed copies, save the trees :D) magazine again, which is a community (meaning world) colaboration of creative pieces (like videos, songs, blogs, stories, etc) focused on spreading more love throughout the world. I would like to write my autobiography and other books also 😀 <3”

Yay! Congrats Jen!

Creative Genius Planning Sessions meets Visionary Visioning

By Andrea Schroeder | December 2, 2012

I’ve been doing Monday Morning Creative Genius Planning Sessions for a long time.

First, I did them by myself, in a coffee shop.

Coffee and a breakfast sandwich and journaling and planning.

I worked out lists of things to explore each week in these sessions, and then took what I discovered in those explorations and used that to create my schedule for the week.

I shared how I do all of this in the Creative Business Incubator (which is free for Creative Dream Circle members).

This past summer it evolved into all sorts of different Picnic Creative Genius Planning Sessions. Some weeks I did this every morning.

With a few car-picnics in the fall when it was too cold to journal outside.

And then it got chilly and I went back inside.

Now – every Monday morning, there’s a new Creative Genius Planning Session in the Creative Dream Circle where we focus in on consciously creating our week, using creativity, spirit, imagination, intuition, play and MAGIC.

I love this!

And I’ve been feeling another aspect of this wanting to come in: something like bigger picture visioning. But not “big picture”, ugh. Somehow that feels kind of forced and gross. No, I want visionary visioning.

What I want is a sense of openness and trusting in spirit and intuition to lead. Not me-trying-to-control-everything-and-MAKE-things-happen. More like connecting into the more expansive vision that is always there and sometimes I’m not aware of because I am focused in on the details of my life.

There’s this thing that happens in Creative Dreaming – when you get the things you wanted. If you’re not continually connecting into the greater vision of your purpose you end up stagnating.

I feel like I am reaching this point. I got my dream loft! I’ve created an art studio and play space in here that totally exceeded my own dreams and desires. 20 foot ceiling! GIANT windows with crystals in them that throw rainbows everywhere! The most delicious indoor tent ever! Pink and orange and purple curtains! A sleeping loft! All brand new appliances! Someone else to shovel the show!

I’ve restructured my business and it feels like a better fit now that I get to work more closely with the amazing dreamers in the Creative Dream Circle on an on-going basis, as opposed to running individual classes. Staying in the process longer = WAAAAAAAAAAY more magic, all around.

There’s lots to do still with both of these, I’m not saying I’m DONE. There are lots of things I want to add to the Creative Dream Circle next year. And lots of decorating still to do in the dream loft.

But working with what-is-here is different from connecting to the greater vision and I miss that part!

Luckily, I have lots of tools and processes for how to do this.

Today I don’t know which one I want to use.

This is another thing about creative dreaming: you’re constantly being brought to places that you have never been before. Your inner and outer landscapes shift continually. When you find yourself somewhere new, you have to look around and explore and discover before you can make a plan for how to proceed. What worked there will not necessarily work here!

That’s what this is, me exploring where I’m at now with the intention of gathering the information I need to make a plan.

Right now all I know is this:

I want to do visioning on Sundays.

I want Sunday visioning to fuel Monday Creative Genius Planning.

And, because baby steps are important when you’re venturing out into the unknown, I’m going to do this slowly. I’m going to write + publish a blog post about visioning every Sunday.

It feels important to me that I write it ON SUNDAY to help ground me in experiencing Sunday as the day of visioning. My commitment is to do this for December and then see where I’m at with it. You are so welcome to join along, in the comments, on your blog, in your journal – wherever.

…..

So after writing that I went off to meditate with the intention of connecting to the more expansive vision and this is what I discovered: heart-centered richness + fullness.? That’s the energy of this new vision.

It’s important to do something that anchors you in your vision. So I did this:

It sits right above my desk so all week I’ll be remembering the visionary vision, connecting to it, and being open to learning more about it.

The essence of Successful Creative Dreaming

By Andrea Schroeder | November 29, 2012

Just because somthing seems impossible today doesn't mean you won't be able to do it tomorrow.

Creative Dream TV: How To Stay Creative, Zen + Connected To Your Dreams During The Holidays

By Andrea Schroeder | November 28, 2012

When life gets busy, like it is right now, it can feel like you don’t have enough time/money/energy for our dreams.

But actually you can use the holidays as an opportunity to strengthen your Creative Dreaming Muscles – it works in the same way as adding weights to your workout routine to strengthen your physical muscles.

How you approach the holidays can actually help you make it easier to bring your dreams to life next year.

Watch it now:

(If you don’t see the video, click here)

The aim of this kind of Creative Practice is to deepen + develop your relationship with your Creative Magic.

Your Creative Magic is where your spirituality and creativity meet.? Spending 10 minutes a day there will open up more magic in all of the other minutes of your day.

This can only work if you focus on connecting with yourself and your creativity and not on making pretty things!

You can only be focused in one direction at a time.

For these 5-10 minutes each day, focus inward.

Write/draw/paint/scribble/collage about how you’re feeling right now and/or what thoughts are going through your head.

If you’re having a hard time getting started, start with this creative prayer and write out your response to it:

Believing In Yourself

By Andrea Schroeder | November 27, 2012

I’m writing this from my Creative Zen Tent of Dreams at Creative Magic Headquarters.

Every day, I am soooo glad I moved into the DreamLoft. Having all this open, sunny, sparkly space to play in is the best.? I’ve always wanted an art/play room that is big enough for a tent and now, thanks to the magic of the Creative Dream Incubator, I’ve got it.

Believing In Yourself.

I know you already do believe in yourself.

But, like All Things Creative Dreaming, believing in yourself isn’t something you do once and then you’re done.

It’s a process, there’s always more.

Not always more as in you’re never doing it right and you always have to try harder.

Always more in that there is this continual unfolding and expansion and evolution.? There will always be more but you’re already doing it perfectly.

Believing In Yourself.

It’s like plugging into your superpowers.

Becoming more grounded in your creative magic and your infinite creative potential.

Making you stronger on the inside so you can take bigger steps on the outside.

I think of it like being a tree.? If you want to grow new branches and be taller, you’ve got to put out new roots.

This stabilizes you and makes it possible for you to grow into the fullness of your potential.

This makes it easier to:

  • Take bigger steps towards your dreams
  • Dream bigger/deeper/truer – find new possibilities
  • Deal effectively with your inner (and outer!) critics
  • Make your dreams real in ways that will look like magic (but are actually the natural consequences of having THAT MUCH faith in yourself and your purpose and your creative potential)

So Believing In Yourself is MAGIC.

We’re going to spend a whole day exploring and playing with this on Monday, December 3 in the Creative Dream Circle. (But all calls will be recorded, if you can’t be there live, plus you’ll get some special work playbooks)

Our mission: to FILL UP on Believing in Ourselves so we enter 2013 ready to step more fully into living our dreams.

This sets things up so that all of our Creative Dreaming in 2013 is easier, more fun and more successful because we’ll have big giant creative-dream-tree roots.

Believing in Yourself is beautiful and magic but it’s also really, really hard to do sometimes.? We will address that, with gentleness and creativity and love and magic.?

What to play with us?

Details for joining the circle are right here.

Please note: The Creative Dream Incubator is the prerequisite for joining the Circle.? If you are a Creative Dreamer, you need an Incubator – it shows you how to get from where you are to where you want to be.

I hope you do join us, this world needs more creative spirits who believe in themselves, their potential, and the beauty of their dreams.

When There Is So Much In Your Way You Can’t Move Forward

By Andrea Schroeder | November 26, 2012

When you’re in this situation, the first thing to know is that obstacles are good!

Obstacles are the means through which your dream comes true.? I do mean that literally, you can watch this video for more on that.

So having a lot of obstacles doesn’t mean you can’t move forward and make your dream real.? Even when you have so many obstacles they are blocking you from even being able to see your dream.

When you’re in this situation, the energy dynamic you’re in is like a pinball game – you’re the ball.

Thinking about your dream just gets you pinging between the different obstacles.? I can’t do it now because of this. Oh but I also can’t do it now because of this.? And if I do get started, well then I’ll hit this. Ouch!

Everywhere you turn there is another obstacle – another reason why your dream can not and will not come true.

Not a fun place to be.

And it can feel like the only way out is to just give up on the dream and declare it impossible.

That gets you out of the pinball game.? But then you’re just living in this world where your dreams are impossible and that’s no fun either.

What you have to do is remember that the obstacle is the way through.

The pinball effect stops when you stop running away from the obstacles.? When you sit down with them, get out your journal and start exploring.

MAKE A LIST.

Make a list of all the reasons why your dream is impossible right now, all the things holding you back.

Just creating this list shifts the energy around your dream.? You’re not bouncing around anymore you’re staying with it.? You’re bringing yourself into the inner process of bringing a dream to life.

As a side note: The reason why you’re bouncing around is because you’re looking for an external process for bringing your dream to life.? This does not exist.? Bringing a dream to life is an internal process.

SIT WITH YOUR LIST.

You’ve been spending a lot of time bouncing up against these things, and trying to run away from them, or maybe even trying to blow them up.? It can take some time to un-plug from that energy dynamic and come to a place of stillness and being able to just sit with the obstacle.

This is important!? If you can’t stay present with the obstacle, you can’t work with it as your means of bringing your dream to life.? It might feel like nothing is happening but actually everything is happening.

It’s totally like this scene from my favourite movie:

The most magical and amazing things cannot be experienced until you’re willing to open your mind and really be with them.

Here’s the secret:

As you’re sitting with your list of reasons why you can’t have what you want right now eventually you discover a truth: these things aren’t actually what’s stopping you.

It’s your attitude towards and beliefs about these things that is stopping you.

Your attitude and beliefs are things that you can change.

And when you start to work on that – congratulations.? You are now on the path of making your dreams real.

I tried this myself yesterday.

I was a little stuck with something and made a list of why I couldn’t have I wanted right then.

And hot damn if that list of things that felt like real and insurmountable obstacles wasn’t anything more than a list of sad excuses.

Making the list forced me to face my own bullshit.? And then get over it.? And then do something about it.

I know it can be very uncomfortable to do this – especially if you haven’t done this kind of inner work before.? But it’s not like being in the pinball game is comfortable either, just give it a try.

There is always a way to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Does trying to figure out what this inner journey means and how to go on it feel like too much to do on your own?

The Creative Dream Circle can totally help.? It gives you all the tools you need and leads you through the entire process of bringing your dream to life.

Creative Dream TV: Believing In Yourself

By Andrea Schroeder | November 21, 2012

When you don't believe in yourself, every little thing in your way seems like a huge, insurmountable obstacle.

When you do believe in yourself, huge insurmountable obstacles turn into tiny pebbles that you just kick out of your way as you walk merrily along the path to your dream.

Believing in yourself is magic.

But, as you probably already know, getting there is complicated.

That's what this week's Creative Dream TV is all about:

The (free!) Creative Dream Un-STUCK-U-Bator Sessions

That?s not true.

We can?t make your shining big dream real is 15 minutes (that?s what the Incubator is for) but we can clear what?s in your way right now and get you moving towards it in a smoother, more ease-filled way.?

And you can get a sense of whether or not I am the right person to help you with your dream.

ETA:? All sessions have been taken. There are no more sessions available.? At this time I don’t know if I’ll do this again, but if I do first dibs will go to the people on my email list (sign up over at the top right corner of this page).
