INTERNAL RESISTANCE has always been a part of Creative Dreaming. It seems like we'll always have parts of us who want to sabotage our dreams and hide under the covers.
But these days the resistance seems to team up with the heaviness and overwhelm about everything that's happening and it's a lot more work to get through it. I see this in myself and in the people I work with.
So I continue to explore... how do we keep creative dreaming in a dystopia? How do we keep making space for hope for a better future for everyone?
One of the things I do, for myself, on the really bad days, when I can (ie when I don't have really pressing things to do) is I embroider. The simple repetitive hand movement and creative satisfaction are really grounding and help bring me back to center.
Today I decided to turn on my camera and talk about what's on my mind as I did this... and then after I finished recording I realized - this is a STITCH N BITCH! lol!
