I love this new imagery I found to describe creative dreaming, the dream as a ball of light and the stuff of creative dreaming orbiting it.
(This is from the updated YOU ARE THE MAGIC guide + journal from the new class on Creative Dream Alchemy) (Members can get it here, everyone can get it here)
Like how the moon is a part of the earth, these things are just a part of it. They are connected.
We don't need to judge any of the things, we just recognize that they are there. This is the STUFF of Creative Dreaming. We learn to work with it by PRACTICING Creative Dreaming. And then we keep practicing to go deeper.
Some things are in slow orbit, they can seem gone but they’ll probably be back.
It’s always changing - in terms of which parts are right there in sight when you pick it up.
Also, all of this is happening inside the alchemy so the stuff can change as it orbits.
All of our work is about really listening to what happens inside us when we hold our dream. What comes up? That's the next thing to be with.
(I lead you through this in the Creative Dream Alchemy Meditation that comes with the new course! Try it this weekend!)
Today, as I pick up my ball of light, I feel roots growing out of my feet.
Growing SOOOOO SLOWLY.
Which also feels like… I need to give myself more support for the rooting.
It feels like… I’ve been in process with many things that are coming to fruition and/or moving to “next levels” and it makes sense that I need some time to acclimate to being where I am. I need to get rooted.
Someone shared a similar thing in the forum in the membership this week, about taking some significant steps into the new life they’d been creating, and then, while reflecting in their weekly Dream Status Report, noticing how they didn’t actually feel rooted in their new life… and that maybe there were places they were bringing their old “ways of being” into the new life, and that they had hoped to leave some of those things in the old life.
And I thought “Oh wow, same”
This is such a common thing. We do the outer work to create a new thing, we step into our new life but then… where is our new inner self?
IT TAKES TIME to acclimate to our live lives, it takes time to acclimate to any change, even when it’s a wanted change that we worked hard to create.
It reminded me of a dream I had while I was still in the divorce process.
One thing I started doing immediately when my marriage ended was sewing. I made myself so many nice things for my new life. One of them being a gorgeous sexy nightgown. With a sewn in super comfy soft bralette. It was soooo comfy and I felt so alive wearing it.
So, in my dream, I went into my kitchen in the morning to make coffee, wearing the sexy nightgown. It took me a new minutes to realize… all three of my step-kids were there. They were relaxed on the couches, on their devices, not noticing me, so I just put a cardigan on over my nightgown and just felt a little exposed and weird.
Then I looked at my one step-son, who in real life does do a lot of lucid dreaming, and he looked me in the eye and started telepathically communicating with me “NONE OF THIS IS REAL! NONE OF US ARE ACTUALLY HERE! WTF?!”
And then I heard the water running upstairs and thought my husband must be having a shower.
And then I was like… wait… am I still married? Am I back in my old life? But in my new nightgown?
It really described how it feels to step into your new life and how it takes time for your inner self to catch up with your new outer life.
So what helps?
Practicing the Dream Work of connecting/attuning to the soul of your dream, and sometimes Inner Work for processing and releasing the stuff you want to get of.
Creative Dream Alchemy process for Acclimating to your dream
Releasing Ceremony for letting go of the stuff you don’t want to bring with you
And mostly… keep dreaming. Keep holding the dream and being with the things that show up.
I spent 5 minutes today feeling into those roots. Noticing the sensation of ROOTEDNESS in my body.
I am also LISTENING TO WHAT HAPPENED as I did that, which was a feeling that I need to slow down in the Outer Work.
So I am slowing down.

Co-Dreaming/Co-Working is today! I hope to see you there!
