Ways to mark and celebrate PROCESS over PROGRESS.

This photo marks a huge celebratory moment and turning point for me.

I wish I could explain how HAPPY I am about this.

I've been using the same Molotow brand refillable paint pens since 2011. I replace the nibs, sometimes the internal mechanism breaks and I have to replace a whole pen, but mostly I just refill them.

Until recently, I didn't buy refills very often. Those smaller on the left in the photo would last YEEEEAAARRRSSS. It was only black that I would re-buy, like every 3-4 years.

Last year I got a new black refill in January and it was EMPTY by the middle of December.

That marks my first year using a whole refill of ink within a year.

So this year when I was buying new refills, I noticed that THERE IS A LARGER SIZE (the one on the right in the photo).

In an instant, I went from not even knowing that a larger size existed because the little one lasted me YEEEAAARRRSSS, to realizing that I NEED the larger size so I don't run out because I'd like to journal EVEN MORE this year than last year and I do reach for black more than colours.

(My local art supply store doesn't keep these refills in stock any more, the one I order from Montreal has a $24 flat rate shipping which is a bit much for a $12 refill of ink so I tend to order less often and stock up on things)

THIS IS A CELEBRATION OF SHOWING UP

It doesn't matter what my journaling looks like.

It doesn't matter if the journaling helped me figure out my life and get my shit together.

Nothing matters except that I showed up for myself and my dreams MORE in this measurable way.

I think there are lots of interesting ways to measure when we're not focused on outcomes.

Pages filled.

Hours spent.

Words written.

Since the process of entirely non-leaner there is actually no real way of measuring progress and yet we're all kind of focused on it.

How can we measure and celebrate our PROCESS instead of our PROGRESS?

Can you PRIORITIZE your dream?

I spent 2025 sitting with a few questions, one of them being: How to I BE the artist that I know I AM?

That question brought up SO MUCH. (On our Hello 2026 Dream Blessing Ceremony on Zoom we had this great discussion about BEING who we know we ARE and how complex this is)

Sitting with it took so many turns.

And now, even though our calendar isn’t actually magic and a new year doesn’t have any real power… I feel like “Oh that’s so last year”.

I am no longer wondering HOW to BE the artist I know I AM.

Because I am BEING her.

I was almost there… I had big projects ready to begin and very vague sense of where I wanted to go and actual trust that a vague sense was enough direction…

(And I have a post I work on about this shift that happened for me in the first week of 2026 but it's not quite ready for sharing. Next week I hope!)

And then I had a business coaching session to go over my plans for 2026 (with Pamela Slim who is amazing and I trust completely and mostly works on much larger projects but once a year offers a small 1 off coaching session through her email list)

One thing that came up is that it would make more sense for me to do ART and my own journaling/mediation first thing in the morning when I am my most creative, and then do work later in the morning or the afternoon. And to mix it up more, to back and forth between them.

To use the art as FUEL instead of the old "get your work done, then you can play".

Which is complicated because we DO need to take care of practical matters and I LOVE my work... AND... there is this thing where if you don't prioritize the play, the work can take up all the space. But when you prioritize play there is more energy and the work gets done - in an even better way!

Some of the big questions that came up around BEING the artist I AM were about schedules, routines, and my whole relationship to my work, both the art and the Creative Dream Incubator which feel so completely connected to me but are also kind of two different things.

When Pam suggested this it felt scary AND right.

And then when I tried it, it was like WHOA. The lights went on.

I’ve been so productive in this last week (this just happened a week ago) and have more energy in general.

I’ve always known that doing my own Creative Dream Alchemy practice first thing CHANGES EVERYTHING about how the day unfolds, and that needs to come first.

But to also sit and embroider for a few hours, or draw or paint, before checking email, before making sure my business tasks are done…the only phrase that feels right to describe how that feels is “a goddamn miracle”.

I have so much more energy and mental space.

It might be tempting to think I should have figured this all out sooner and not given myself a whole year to sit with the question about how BE the artist I AM.

But I don't know that the answer would have hit in the same way, if it hadn’t had as much as it did to sit with the question.

Sometimes we do need to just sit with things and let our inner relationship with them change.

Sometimes we do need to shake ourselves out of our comfort zone and just DO THE THING.

I can remember at least a few times when I have given this same advice to someone on a group call or individual coaching session… how sometimes we need to PRIORITIZE the dream over the day to day life. And it’s usually scary to contemplate and then becomes VERY liberating.

So I want to leave you with that question. How can you PRIORITIZE your dreams, over the things you need to do each day?

It’s natural to run out of steam, from doing all the things you NEED to do, and not get to the tings you WANT to do.

But if you did the things you WANT to do first - would that generate more energy so you actually get everything done?

Sometimes the answer is yes.

Our New Moon call is happening tomorrow, January 16.

Membership members: Get the call details here. <-- the replay will be on that page a few hours after our call.

The New Moon Calls Are IMPORTANT!!!!

Make sure to participate, either by joining us on Zoom tomorrow or by making a plan to watch the replay in the next few days.

This is where you plan out the next month of your work with your dream. And you know me! I'm not going to ask you to "just focus on your dream" if you are in the US and freaked out about what is happening. In the meditation you'll have some space to process and sit with "What do I need now?" and set an intention to support yourself through this time.

We do this very gently, we start with a meditation for reflection on the previous month, gathering up the lessons and growth, celebrating the wins, re-framing the things that are ready to be changed, checking in with what we need now, and then setting intentions for the month ahead. This is a DREAMY and SUPPORTIVE process.

Then, we do an alchemy process for connecting with the part of us that knows how to do what we want to do, and gather information and support about what we need over the coming month. This is where we get more BRAVE and FOCUSED.

This is when I ask you to look at the ALCHEMY of it all - the Dream Work, Inner Work And Outer Work that's going to support you over the next month.

Then there's time for coaching, Q+A, having amazing discussions and talking about whatever is coming up for you in your work with your dreams.

If you can't attend a live call, leave your questions/comments/thoughts in the comments (at the bottom of the page with the call details) and I'll address them on the call.

You can let these times change you.

Have you noticed how in any interesting story… there are characters, and there is an event, and the event changes the characters? And how, so often, we like them better as their changed selves and even THEY seem to like themselves better as their changed selves? Even though the event was traumatizing and unwanted?

I’m re-watching Stranger Things and was really appreciating Nancy Wheeler’s transformation from kind of prissy entitled teenaged girl to monster slayer, risking her life to protect others. I think you can tell she loves who she’s become.

That was one of the things I remember about my divorce. When it happened so suddenly, and felt like this huge dramatic wave, I thought… I don’t want this to change me. I don’t want it to make me bitter and shut down.

That was just a response in the moment. In time I started to see how much I DID want the divorce process to change me. How unwanted, uninvited traumatic experiences actually do have the power to HEAL us and help us move deeper into who we really are.

That wish “I DON’T WANT THIS TO CHANGE ME. I DON’T WANT MY LIFE TO CHANGE” is a natural response to traumatic events… AND… a “natural response to a traumatic event” could also be called a trauma response… and we don’t want to stay in that response.

My social media feeds are full of ads for different ways to regulate your nervous system so you can stay positive… like the right yoga routine can cure fascism, late stage capitalism and climate collapse.

I get the wish to try to stay positive, keep your nervous system regulated, and hold onto the things that matter to you. But again, do you want to stay in a trauma response?

Of course, I really want you to be taking good care of yourself.

OF COURSE I REALLY want you to not give up on your dreams.

But we also have to remember that our dreams are our creative and spiritual responses to the world we live in. So as the world changes, our dreams may change, we may change, and we need to make space for all of that.

Right now, if you feel stuck or unsure with your dreams, it could be that your dreams need you to let them change in light of how the world is changing.

Support for this in the membership:

The Dream Lab! This helps you really dig in and explore the soul of your dream, you can even ask your dream directly “Do you need to change?”

Dream Book 2026 - a gentle practice for showing up and holding space for yourself, your dreams and the future you want to create. These dailyISH check ins can help you notice, over time, what needs to change.

We have a New Moon Intention Setting Ritual this Friday - the way we do that ritual also helps us connect with ourselves and our dreams and make space to really LISTEN so we can see the changes that want to happen. (This work the same if you come live or watch the replay over the weekend)

I celebrated my 15th anniversary with the Creative Dream Incubator and it was weird.

Like, thinking back 15 1/2 years ago when I made the decision to make this my full time work, and the dreams and goals I had for myself then…. and then I look at where I am today... and this just feels weird.

The journey has been so much richer than I could have imagined. My work is deepened in ways I couldn’t see 15 years ago. And over time my priorities have changed.

AND 15 1/2 years ago a lot of the dreams I had for this work were rooted in capitalist/colonialist values that I hadn't yet done work work to dismantle...

I'm not where I thought I would be AND I am thrilled about where I am.

So it’s all a little trippy to reflect on.

I am proud of myself, the decisions I’ve made, and the hard work and dedication I’ve put in to building my dreams.

Still, I feel lucky that it’s worked out the way it has.

Fifteen years in, I see that my work has deepened so profoundly that it doesn’t look like I thought it would, when I set out.

Which, I think, is going to happen over time! Especially when we leave space for creativity and soul to have a say in our process.

Like - if we stick with them, our dreams really will surprise us! In the ways we most need surprising!

Plus - we change and the world changes over time! Since 2015 it’s been a priority for me decolonize my worldview and that’s had a huge impact on my work as well - my personal decolonizing journey has made me such a better space-holder, healer and all around sensitive witchy creative being.

I set out to help creatives make their dreams real with more ease and joy along the way.

I ended up working with as many healers, coaches and therapists as creatives. And I can see why!

And the work itself shifted from focusing on making your dream real and turned into much deeper support for being in process. In fact, on our last call, a new member said was happy to join a group where we made space for THE JOY OF BEING IN PROCESS.

The further you go with this work, the more you see - it’s all about the process.

We’re always in process. Each dream morphs into another dream and it’s real not about attaining anything but about how we’re showing up for ourselves, how we’re living in alignment with our values, how we are tending to our creative and spiritual gifts.

The dream come true is the icing on the cake and/or a foundation from which to dream new dreams from, it’s not “the end”. Each dream leads us deeper into ourselves and that is a lifelong journey.

So, fifteen years in to my work with the Creative Dream Incubator, I can't say that I have "arrived" at this dream come true. It's still morphing, growing, healing, surprising and challenging me.

The thing I am most proud of, 15 years in: I have created an entire new system for creative dreaming called CREATIVE DREAM ALCHEMY.

It speaks to the alchemical process that happens when you really show up for a dream, which is about answering your soul’s calling, and involves as much inner healing and growth as it does outer work. This is the work of letting your TRUE SELF have more say in your life.

Creative Dream Alchemy is a way to navigate that process, which means working on multiple fronts at a time.

I’ve build libraries of tools for the Inner Work (healing, processing all the feelings that come up around our dreams, and generating new insights and breakthroughs), Dream Work (understanding your dream as a message from your soul, engaging with the inner growth that your dream is asking for) and Outer Work (not just doing the thing, but research, planning, learning, experimenting - the brave work of continuing to show up over time) that engaging deeply with your dream entails.

And when we engage with this work - alchemy happens.

Things shift and change. Breakthroughs and miracles come when we need them. We learn to REPY on these shits because they happen so consistently… when we show up consistently.

We realize that we don’t have to wait to feel ready to take the big leap - we can learn to create a path that leads to where we want to be, and we can create that path by taking the smallest of little steps.

So that’s what I do now.

I share the entire Creative Dream Alchemy framework and tools to show you haw to tap into the MAGIC, MEDICINE and HEALING that your dream has to offer you.

And then I offer ongoing support for showing up and taking the little steps of engaging more deeply with all of that while simultaneously building the path that leads to where you want to be.

It’s healing, alchemy, magic, creativity, spirituality all while validating our honest thoughts, feelings and reactions. It’s deep and nuanced and the kind of thing that’s hard to talk about on today’s internet with its shrinking attention spans.

But for the people who are ready to dive deeper into the magic - I’m here.

Membership members -  Send me an email (there is a contact form on this page) if you have any questions about what tools would best help for where you're at right now.

What to DO to “work on your dream”

We want to be IN PRACTICE with our dreams, as opposed to the dream being something outside of you that feels too far away to do anything about, or the dream being some kind of pressure to make a thing happen, or anything like that.

These are the things that happen when you are IN A PRACTICE with your dreams:

  • You have ways to engage with your dreams no matter what is happening in your life
  • You can take little steps even when you can’t see the path
  • You can be in the process, receiving the medicine + magic of your dream any time you choose to (this generates miracles and alchemy!!!)
  • Your dream will help you heal + grow right now, before you make any changes in your life
  • Magic and restorative, helps you grow into the version of you who can overcome the obstacles + get to where you want to be

(That's from You Are The Magic, the free journal I send out to people on my email list. You can download it here.)

Without a Creative Dream PRACTICE, you can’t access this magic.

You have to face your fears, overcome the obstacles and make your dream real just out of sheer determination… this is impossible!

Having a Creative Dream Practice is EVERYTHING.

Everything in the membership is meant to support your practice. But as I add new things sometimes it gets confusing to know which ones are going to help you, specifically, for where you are right now.

So please email me if you have questions… and… this year I am going to be working on a clearer map that helps you navigate the material.

To help you SHOW UP and CREATE SPACE to BE IN A PRACTICE with your dreams:

Dream Book 2026 especially the Hello Day Energy Clearing + Intention Setting is meant for this!

But anything you show up and DO regularly - ANY Creative Dream Alchemy practice in Inner Work, Dream Work or Outer Work helps you CREATE THAT SPACE so you can be in practice.

This gives you space to sit with yourself and your dream. That's what PRACTICING your dream is.

To notice what happens when you connect with your dream.

The thing that comes up there is ALWAYS your next step. Tending to that is how you practice dreaming.

The thing that shows up may be: freaking out because you don’t know HOW to move forward or it may be a really brilliant idea or it may be exhaustion. There are millions of things that can show up, and the thing that shows up can change every day.

The real work, of deepening into your dreams AND deepening in your Dream Self, that version of you who absolutely can do your dream, is to BE WITH and TEND TO the things that show up.

This is why you have the libraries of Dream Work, Inner Work and Outer Work tools - to find something to help you do that work.

This is what makes your practice ALCHEMICAL. A process that changes things into other things… fear and doubt can become insight, clarity and fuel for the journey.

Now this is a Creative Dream ALCHEMY practice.

THEN we want to create some CLARITY and DIRECTION for your work, so that when you show up and engage with your dream, it’s moving you forward.

To create CLARITY + DIRECTION:

Having a Dream Book (but you can be working through it slowly!) for this dream - this is where Dream Work, Inner Work and Outer Work come together and is a more FOCUSED way of working with your dream. The Dream Book content asks you to really face and understand the Dream Work, Inner Work and Outer Work that this dream needs from you

Monthly New Moon Intention Setting: reflecting on the month that has passed, choosing the best intention for the coming month, and an alchemy process for connecting with your Dream Self and getting next-level insights from… you. (Use the sidebar on that page to find the call for the current month)

Weekly Dream Status Report: reflect on the week that passed to help you know what to focus on next week

Weekly Planning/Coaching Sheet: map out your next steps (this is so good done after the Dream Status Report!)

Creative Genius Planning Sessions: a more in-depth way of mapping out your next steps, use this when your dream feels big or complicated

Dream Plan Kit: mapping out the general process of HOW you’re going to do the thing (knowing that the HOW will change as you are in the process, but this helps you get going)

(You don’t necessarily need to do ALL of these, but do enough of them to feel you have clarity and direction. To start I suggest: Dream Book, either New Moon Intention Setting or the Weekly Dream Status Reports, and one form of planning)

When you are showing up to practice, and have some clarity and focus … now you’re going to be moving both DEEPER into the Dream Work and Inner Work and moving FORWARD towards your dream.

If your progress feels slow… it might be that it takes the time it takes (one of the Principles of Creative Dream Alchemy)... or it might be that you are avoiding part of the Dream Work, Inner Work or Outer Work, which is common! By continuing to SHOW UP and then BE WITH whatever thoughts and feelings come up when you do, you'll figure it out!!

Going DEEPER into your process is usually the way to speed things up.

But being slow and consistent is generally the best way to create your Creative Dream Practice as a foundation that can HOLD SPACE for you to create what you want in your life.

Remember there is deep healing and growth happening here, it's not fair to measure by just external change or measurable progress. You are building the foundation, and maybe even re-wiring your inner world, to make space for you to hold this dream.

The slowest way in:

Start with Dream Book 2026, do the “building the container” parts and then start working in it.

When you feel ready, start Dream Book and work through that content slowly.

Do the monthly Intention Setting.

Then add whatever else feels necessary.

Letting change be uncomfortable

This is a rare morning where I woke up and my phone was on my nightstand. I’ve been more disciplined about not bringing my phone upstairs at night, so it’s now there in the morning, and I don’t start my day scrolling.

But last night I brought it upstairs and I’m glad I did. This morning I did the 20 minute Dream Lab meditation before getting out of bed.

I was NOT focused.

My mind kept drifting away and then I’d hear part of the meditation and try to come back. So you could say I didn’t properly “do” the Dream Lab… except when we show up for these practices, we can trust the process. I showed up and that counts.

So my mind wandered all over the place during the meditation… AND… I ended it feeling so much connected to my dream, and grounded on the path. I see those next steps clearly and feel ready to take them.

After soooo many years of posting to my blog every weekday like clockwork this week I’ve been posting "organically" and this feels really uncomfortable.

I don't know what "organic" means when it comes to posting here! A schedule is a form of structure and I find structure so comforting… but only as long as it’s the right FIT structure.

With the blog - I felt I needed to step out of the structure to check and see… is this the right fit for where I’m at now?

I don’t know. And it felt important to KNOW. So I decided to stop the way I was doing it, as a way of stepping deeper into my magic, deeper into listening to myself, and figuring out - what’s the right fit structure for where I’m at now?

Of course! Trying anything new can be disorienting!

We can feel like “But I made the brave choice! Where’s my prize??? Why is this uncomfortable when I know it's the right thing??” but the thing is - most change is uncomfortable.

So I am letting it be uncomfortable and trusting myself to find/create the structure I need next.

Our dreams need so many forms of structure to help them come to life, and sometimes these forms need to change and it’s all pretty disorienting at times! But the RIGHT FIT structure does not cage you in, it’s more like a hug. It helps your ideas have something to lean on to help them grow.

Our Hello 2026 Dream Blessing Ceremony is tomorrow!

Call details are here. (If you're not a member this is definitely worth joining for!! Even if you're not sure yet what your dreams for 2026 are!)

I am really excited for this one!

And I have been working in my Dream Book 2026 planner every day.

I am a little frustrated - I ordered refill inks for my paint pens over a week ago and my order still hasn't left Montreal!!! I am out of some of the colours I wish I could use and wishing that wasn't as frustrating as it is but here we are.

Some days I am using the Hello Day Energy Clearing + Intention Setting practice to set intentions for my day. Some days I am writing these reminders of things I am learning in the process.

I am LOVING the feeling of slowly watching this notebook fill up, and thinking of how it will feel like to have this FULL of all the little steps I took with my dreams all year.

Since I am already in the discomfort of change with my dreams, having this practice feels extra grounding for me.

We're all dealing with a lot right now!

I've been meditating on this and the same answer keep coming... that our dreams have the medicine we need to navigate these times. Our dreams ARE our soul's guidance and we need our soul's guidance.

So we need to prioritize our dreams right now in whatever way we can - as in connecting to the soul of your dream and really opening up to the healing and possibilities that are available to you, NOT as in pushing yourself to get a lot done with the Outer Work (unless that feels right for you right now!!).

Membership members - I am here! Send me an email (there is a contact form on this page) if you have any questions about what tools would help for where you're at.

How are you coping with the state of the world?

I wrote this post about how I am coping with the state of the world, and then I looked for a photo to put with it and this one from a while back was PERFECT. If you look at my journaling under the paint, it starts with "I am so fucking depressed..."  Not expressing our feelings about the state of the world is not good for us!!!!

I was asked recently: How are you coping with the state of the world?

This person shared that they had kind of freaked out about something and were feeling like they need to figure out how to cope better.

I told them that it sounded to me like they had appropriate feelings and behaviour to the situation.

Things are fucked up.

Staying calm all the time isn’t actually a healthy or necessarily helpful response.

Of course we don’t want to be super reactive, we do want to try to give ourselves space to sit with and sort through our thoughts and feelings before choosing how we’re going to act.

This is actually what I’ve always taught about Creative Dreaming. Even when the world was a simpler place, creatives always had a lot of feels! And dreaming is scary! So we always had a lot of anxiety and doubt and thoughts and things to sort through in order to be able to act from a clear, powerful and aligned place.

So, to me, the work hasn’t changed. There’s just more of it. And it’s harder work. And we’re more exhausted than ever. It’s creative dreaming in late stage capitalism.

So, I have been sitting with that.

What do we need, to help us keep doing the work of healing, growing, creating, being our true selves and living in alignment with our souls… in these times?

As I've been exploring what I need, I've also been shifting and adjusting things in the Creative Dream Incubator membership to better support YOU in these times too.

As creatives, healers, activists and visionaries - our work is needed now more than ever and we can't do our work effectively from burnout and overwhelm.

So, what I've been doing:

I re-created the Dream Lab, my most beloved practice for Dream Work, for helping you connect with the soul of your dream to get a deeper level of answers, advice, inspiration + support about how to navigate your path.

I realized this meditation needed to be much slower, given the state of the world. We just need more time to get into it!

I used try, when possible, to create tools that were easy to use in as little time as possible. Like - people were very “I want my dream but I have no time” and I was trying to address that.  You don’t need to give it a ton of time, if you can devote the time you have to Dream Work, things will start to shift.

But now, we actually need to give things more time. To address overwhelm and root more deeply into our power.

So I created 2 versions of the Dream Lab alchemy meditation, because a shorter version is really helpful from a practical life perspective and a longer version is NEEDED - this gives you space to really get into this meeting with the soul of your dream, to go deeper into your process, and get better support.

The previous Dream Lab meditation was about 5 minutes long. The new long version is 20 minutes - THAT is how I am coping with these times.

I also re-created the Un-Sticking Station, my most beloved tool for Inner Work. It was one short meditation, now it is broken down into three steps, with three separate 20 minute meditations so you work through the un-sticking so much more slowly and can go so much more deep into it and get so much more healing and insight from it.

There is also an option to do all three steps in one 35 minute meditation.

And I added an 18 minute video for when you’re actively freaking out and just need to calm down - a loving process for sitting with and tending to your most difficult feelings.

All this together helps you to:

SLOW DOWN. GO DEEPER. GET MORE SUPPORT FROM SOUL.

Then I created a late stage capitalism update to my Creative With Money program with space to explore and process (because there is NO TIME TO PROCESS IN LATE STAGE CAPITALISM!!!) how late stage capitalism has impacted you, make space for those feelings, make space for listening to your inner wisdom and work on developing a whole new relationship with the soul of money, one that can navigate these wild times.

The Creative With Money late Stage Capitalism update is a THREE MONTH long meditation and journaling program.

Again: SLOW DOWN. GO DEEPER. GET MORE SUPPORT FROM SOUL.

Then I added the Dream Book 2026 program.

This is an additional layer of “holding space for your process” to go with the Dream Book program.

This is where we do SMALLER MORE DO-ABLE steps so you can show up more consistently, which makes space for the deeper work to be able to happen.

Dream Book 2026 includes Hello Day Energy Clearing and Intention Setting Meditation as a daily practice (another Dream Work practice) which has two versions which are 5 and 9 minutes long - both come with 15 minutes of music playing after the meditation so you can sit with the questions for as long as you choose.

Doing the 5 minute daily practice and connecting with yourself, your soul, your creativity and your dreams in this way DOES start to shift things - even when you don’t h ave space (either time wise or emotional capacity wise) for the deeper work that your dreams need from you.

Your Creative Dream Practice is, above all else, GENERATIVE.

It will CREATE SPACE for more magic to happen.

So, personally, to cope, I am using these tools more faithfully.

I know it's easy to say "I'm overwhelmed I don't have time for that" and I would say in response "This is the work that tends to the overwhelm, do you want to be burned out or do you want to tap into your deeper magic and creative power?"

AND at the same time I am validating the shit out of my feelings about the state of the world.

FASCISM, WAR, GENOCIDE, ECOCIDE AND UNFETTERED GREED ARE BAD FOR EVERYONE’S MENTAL HEALTH.

I mean this on top of the physical destruction that is happening. It’s hard just to be here with all of this even if nothing is impacting you directly. We need to acknowledge that.

It may mean you are more stressed out, having more panic attacks, sleeping more, or barely sleeping, eating more, or barely eating, etc, etc, etc.

YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR HOW YOU RESPOND. YOUR RESPONSE MAKES SENSE.

You probably need to give yourself permission to spend more time/energy tending to your feelings, holding space for yourself AND holding space for your dreams.

Because if you do… then you connect with your soul, your values, your truth, your courage, your creativity, your power… and your inner knowing about how you want to respond.

This is how we create a better future.

Practically speaking, like how do you do that - we need to go much DEEPER into our Inner Work and Dream Work practices, and then move SLOWER with the Outer Work.

So that’s why I re-did the Dream Lab and Un-Sticking station, to help you do that. Doing those practices regularly will show you what you need to know about your Outer Work.

Spend more time on the Dream Work and Inner Work, move slower and more purposefully/powerfully with the Outer Work.

I suggest starting the Dream Book program and working through it at your own pace, this guides you through the process of the Inner Work and Dream Work that your dream needs, and helps you organize your Outer Work. (And Dream Book includes the Dream Lab and Un-Sticking Station)

So that's how I am coping with these times AND how the Creative Dream Incubator has shifted and adjusted to better support YOU in these times too.

As creatives, healers, activists and visionaries - our work is needed now more than ever and we can't do our work effectively from burnout and overwhelm.

Slowly dreaming into the new year

The last 2 days in my Dream Book 2026 planner. I am writing out my daily intentions, making plans, writing down important messages from my dream - every day it turns out a little different.

Winter is the season of resting, reflecting and dreaming and I love it.

I am deep in the dreaming vibes…but the doesn’t mean I already have a list of things I want to accomplish in 2026.

I am coming up with a list of questions I want to sit with - which actually feels appropriate given the state of the world.

These are such fucked up times AND, the more deeply I reflect, read and lean, the more obvious the answer becomes. We need to divest from dominant (capitalist colonialist) culture and invest in creativity and soul. In every possible way.

“In every possible way” has two meanings: eventually yes we must divest in every conceivable way but right now we much divest in every way that seems possible for us, in the lives we are living. These ways may seem tiny, but they matter! They are steps on a path and we know that taking steps literally CREATES the path and so, tiny as they may be, every step counts.

This IS the work of Creative Dreaming. This IS the work of these times. Finding the places in us that KNOW that a better world is possible and learning to live more deeply from those places.

Our dreams are our SOULS showing us our path in life - the path that exists outside of the oppressive systems we live inside of. Yes this is so awkward sometimes because our souls don’t always understand how hard it is to navigate these systems, but it’s also so helpful because our souls understand our ACTUAL power, gifts and medicine, and won’t let us give up on ourselves.

Mostly what I want for the new year is MORE SPACE to sit with my thoughts and feelings about everything so I can process them, tend to my experience as a sensitive human living in all of these oppressive systems, and make the art that wants to be made.

My New Year's Day - opening up my new giant 2026 planner, on the floor with tea and gingerbread,

So I’ve been spending time lying on the floor with my journals, art supplies, tarot cards (and my current fave the Archetypes deck from the Wild Unknown), tea and gingerbread cookies.

I’m digging into my Dream Book 2026 - I LOVE the magic of having a near-empty planner and watching it slowly get filled with colour.

And I had my first Dream book 2026 related breakthrough: I would really love to spend several hours EVERY DAY making. Like the kind of simple repetitive projects that would give my brain the space it is craving.

But I am NOT set up for this. I have ideas for big projects but they are not at a stage where I can just pick them up and work on them. They are at stages that need more thought, effort, planning, etc.

We talk about this quite frequently in the membership - setting up the project and doing the project are two separate things, and we may have a lot of energy for doing the project, but that energy goes to waste if we have no project already set up. So… SET UP MULTIPLE PROJECTS!

So, I am getting set up for two big embroidery projects: a motorcycle jacket I want to embroider a big snake on as I contemplate the skins I am shedding in midlife, and an artist’s smoke I want to embroider a ton of things on to represent different facets of my creative genius.

I want the embroidery time of both of these projects to be GENERATIVE as in spark new ideas for other projects.

My new chair! It looks plain but it's very cushy.

I also got myself a new chair! Which is really funny to me, given that SITTING WITH things is a big part of my plans for this year. But I did want a cushier seat for our Zooms and for embroidery I want to do.

Giving myself more space to DREAM [Weekly Dream Status Report]

My blog is where I share my on Creative Dream Alchemy practice. All of the tools I use are in the Creative Dream Incubator membership and I link to them often in my blog posts. Only membership members will be able to access the tools. If you're not a member yet - join us here!

For years, I have done these "Dream Status Report" prompts every Friday to help me have more clarity, momentum and groundedness on my path.

There are journaling sheets for doing this! These are available for everyone, not just membership members. Download them here.

This Friday I did sit down to do this - and couldn't really wrap my head around it.

It was Jan 2. I had had an all-day brunch hangout with friends for New Year's Day and my social battery was so drained that it drained all of my other batteries, so I just didn't do it.

Then today when I opened up my Dream Book 2026 I remembered that my planner has a page a day PLUS a page every week, beside the Sunday page, and that would be the perfect place to do Dream Status Reports.

AND THEN I realized... I am doing some deep explorations about how I want to set up my life and changes I want to make to my routines, and doing the Dream Status Report in my planner, on Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening, feels really good.

Like, I am still figure out HOW I want things to be in my life, but this routine feels like a part of it.

I printed out the Dream Status Report prompts, the small version, and folded it in half, glued the 2 sides together, cut the extra white space off around the prompts - and I can keep this in my Dream Book 2026 to use to get the prompts each week.

It was so good to sit down with these prompts this evening.

I had forgotten my New Moon Intention from December, and re-reading my notes from our call was SO helpful. There were so many good ideas I got in that meditation, and I have been implementing some of it without realizing it, but there were some pieces I had forgotten that were good to remember.

I am IN PROCESS.

I feel like so many things are shifting at once and it's hard to know where the solid ground is.

For 2025, one of the questions I was really sitting with was "How do I BE the artist that I know I AM?"

And that was such a big question with so many other questions inside it.

But this year, I am starting the year with a lot of answers and that means.... time to IMPLEMENT.

Fully BEING the artist that I AM includes some lifestyle shifts that I am taking the tiniest of baby steps with and I am excited to keep exploring that.

My focus for next week is to give myself more space to DREAM about the minutia of what I'd like my 2026 to be like - what are the routines, systems, structures, habits and projects I'd like AND that support my dreams for this year?

Day 2 and this is already not quite going as planned

Note: for 2026, or at least right now, I won't be posting to my blog every weekday like clockwork as I've done for the last 10+ years. I need some space to be in my process right now, and share in a bit of a more organic way, and see where this goes...

Day 2 and I feel like I have messed this up already.

I am sharing this because THIS IS REALLY COMMON and I don't want anyone to feel like they really DID mess up.

FEELING LIKE you messed up is a part of the process.

I set an intention yesterday to stay INISDE my capacity which meant, to me, to not get depleted. Like, stop and slow down and rest BEFORE depletion.

Which is fantastic in theory.

And not always possible in life.

Setting an intention... and then doing what you can to follow through... and then LEARNING FROM WHAT HAPPENS NEXT is how we figure out how to do the things we want to do.

This is actually exactly why I made the Dream Book 2026 printables.

(You can download them here)

These printables serve as reminders that this is an ALCHEMICAL PROCESS. To not expect it to be linear. To remember that whatever happens in the process is fuel for the process.

I forgot all of that in a moment of depletion and overwhelm.

This is totally natural!

That's WHY I make the printables and encourage a daily-ish habit of checking in with the notebook so that we can REMIND OURSELVES, and better hold space for the actual process.

The actual process will include facing fears and other hard things.

For me, this morning, it means facing the reality of what it will mean to "stay inside my capacity" and how this has so radically changed in the last few years that everything I knew about it before doesn't really apply now.

It's like this with most dream. We can see what we want, but we can't see how to get there. OR we THINK we can see the way to get there, but when we try to take that path, it turns out we are wrong.

Figuring out the HOW is a complex alchemical process of inner healing, growth, alignment and change combined with outer explorations and experimentation.

The more we can let ourselves BE IN PROCESS and not have any expectations about what it looks like, the more easily we can move through that process.

Today, I am not really doing that. I'm judging my process, judging myself and making everything harder as a result.

That's ok! That's how we do it sometimes.

The thing about consistently showing up for this work means it doesn't matter if some days we just get tangled up in it. This isn't the end.

This is what I (coach/witch self) would tell me when I say"I feel like I'm doing this wrong, what should I do?"

The Un-Sticking Station: That would help me go deeper into my feelings and start to learn more about what I REALLY need to stay inside my capacity but we don't always necessarily feel ready for that deeper work. There is also a meditation in there for When You're Too Upset To Do This and I don't know that I am really THAT upset right now but that's still a beautiful gentle way to sit with hard feelings.

I can do the Hello Day practice for energy clearing and re-focusing.

It's Friday! So I can do a Dream Status Report for some reflection and get some clarity about what to focus on next week.

I can always use the Dream Lab to hang out with the soul of my dream, which shifts my energy.

When people in the membership ask me for what to do, I usually to offer multiple suggestions and say - do the one that appeals to you!

Because there is no right or wrong way to go.

And there IS a part of you that does know how to move through your process. Showing up more consistently helps you get in better touch with that part of you.

Day 2 and this is already not quite going as planned Read More »

Hello 2026.

Today I wanted to share my Dream Book 2026 set up with you.

But I'm not finished setting it up.

And I realized that this is better.

The purpose of planner/notebook is to support us in our process. This is my process.

Reflecting on 2025 has been intense!

I flip through the two huge daily 2025 planners I filled and I CRY.

And then an idea pops into my mind, something to hold onto for 2026. And I add it to my Dream Book 2026.

And then I go back to reflecting and crying. And I am not sad - this is just my process right now. Maybe it will take six months for me to fully lock in on what I want for this year! That's fine!

This is the work!

You get clear on what you want. (This is a PROCESS you don't necessarily start already knowing this)

You create some kind of support system or plan to help you show up for it.

You show up.

You face what is there when you show up.

This rarely looks like we think it will.

However your process is right now - you're doing great. You're here. You're showing up.

I realized that's actually why I am crying looking through these huge planners I filled in 2025. I am moved to see all the ways I SHOWED UP for myself.

All the times I kept going even when I was crabby or felt lost.

All the ideas I had and believed in myself enough to try.

I mean - I think we all do this every year! But seeing this visual record of it in one place like this... it's just so moving.

So, I am so excited to start my Dream Book 2026 and create a record of all the ways I show up for myself this year... but it doesn't matter what day I start on or HOW I start.

Like - I am "starting" by being in this process of reflecting on 2025 and being with my feelings of not feeling ready to "start this" and really just needing more rest.

That's how I am starting. It just doesn't look like I thought it would. I thought I would be more clear on all of this by now.

So today, without my clear "second layer" of intentions set in my planner... I showed up anyway.

I did the Hello Day meditation for energy clearing + intention setting.

OMG this is exactly what I need.

I felt my energy shift and I felt myself sink deeper into my body and then the perfect intention for today came to me:

STAY PRESENT IN MY BODY AND IN MY CAPACITY

Then when I invited the soul of my dream to join me, it kind of pushed down on my shoulders and told me to STAY in my body.

I didn't go into the meditation with any idea of what my intention should be.

It's New Year's Day. Last night I made cinnamon buns and garlic butter pull apart crusty rolls, and put both in the fridge to rise overnight. Now I am baking the cinnamon buns and will bring them both to brunch with friends later this morning. To me, this is the perfect way to start a new year (also I am up super early because I went to bed super early last night - my favourite!!).

I loved this reminder from myself that even on a chill day hanging out with people who do not stress me out - I have to stay conscious to stay in my capacity.

As I coloured in my page I thought about what that means, practically speaking and I came up with:

  • Take deep breaths regularly. Consciously bring your energy back into your body.
  • I could even close my eyes and take a breath once in a while, even in a room full of people.
  • Go outside if you need some fresh air and alone time!

As a highly sensitive person, my capacity is actually SACRED.

This is one of the things I'm working with more intentionally right now - remembering and honouring this more deeply.

I can't do the things other people can do - in terms of socializing and in terms of "getting shit done" and just in a lot of ways.

I CAN do things that other people can't do - but only if my whole body, mind, emotional self, creativity, heart, and soul and not overwhelmed by trying to keep up with what dominant culture thinks I should be doing.

So - even on a chill day with friends, how do I honour this for myself?

THIS IS BIG WORK.

ALL DREAM WORK IS BIG WORK.

Whatever comes up for you in this meditation is important.

Baby steps are always appropriate.

TODAY'S THE DAY! I'll be sending out the link to Dream Book 2026 later today!!

Dream Book 2026: HOLDING SPACE for yourself, your dreams and the future you want to create.

What it looks like: Filling a 2026 planner with dreams AKA turning a planner into a DREAMER! (But you can use any notebook you like)

What it is: A dailyISH practice program… in that we are playing with SIMPLE CREATIVE + FUN ways to show up so you CAN show up every day… but you don’t HAVE TO do it every single day. First, we'll set up the planner to hold your intentions for the year, then each month we'll experiment with a different way of doing this.

What it is also: a way of HOLDING SPACE for yourself and your process of connecting more deeply to yourself, your spiritual and creative gifts, your inner knowing and your power. Your medicine and magic.

What it does: Helps you take SMALL steps more consistently, making it more creative + playful to get engaged… so it’s easier to plug in more deeply to your own soul, your creative and spiritual gifts, your medicine.

And also it's a creative way of documenting your process of showing up for yourself during these difficult (and hopefully transformative!) times.

More information is here.
